Pot O’ Gold Thrift Store

Our much-beloved Pot O” Gold Thrift Store (POG) is strongly supported by our community! POG provides our individuals with the opportunity to prepare themselves for employment in a retail or warehouse setting. Individuals work on developing Workplace Essential Skills and other competencies which will assist them in becoming productive and reliable employees within the community.

Our POG thrift store survives on the generous donations from our community. We are so grateful for the donations we receive each week. Donations can be dropped off during store hours Tuesday-Friday 10am-4pm and Saturday 10am-3pm. THANK YOU for making our Pot O’ Gold the ‘SHINING STAR” of our community.

Catering

Our Catering Program allows our individuals to learn valuable workplace skills which will help them learn the competencies required to work in a restaurant setting. From catering for special events and functions to providing meals to those who rent our boardroom, VALID Catering offers a wide variety of catering services to the community.

Vending Machine Operations

VALID has vending machines located throughout Vegreville. From the Rec Centre to the Laundromat and several local businesses, VALID vending machines provide employment opportunities for many of our individuals. In this program, they learn valuable skills like purchasing stock, inventory tracking, sales trends and challenges and handling cash. You will often see our Vending Machine Team out in the community making sure our machines are well stocked and in good working order.

Extreme Clean Team

When Vegreville expressed a need for services such as these, VALID stepped up and put together a program whereby our individuals have a variety of tasks they work on as a team. From janitorial cleaning services, lawn maintenance, yard clean-up, garden and flower bed care to snow removal in the winter, the Extreme Clean and Green Team are often seen out and about in the community. This Group Employment Program allows VALID coaching staff to work with several individuals at one time and promotes and teaches teamwork and positive group interactions in a workplace setting.

Boardroom Rentals

VALID has a beautiful boardroom equipped with the latest in video conferencing technology and is available for rental by other community agencies. Our boardroom can easily accommodate groups of up to 20-25 persons and can be supported by our catering operations.
